Rural Initiative for Training Administrators with Special Education Expertise Grant (RITASEE)

East Tennessee State University has been awarded the Rural Initiative for Training Administrators with Special Education Expertise Grant (RITASEE) funded through the U.S. Office of Special Education Programs. This 1.25 million-dollar award will allow the university to provide scholarships through a competitive application process to a minimum of 18 RITASEE Scholars over the next five years. 

Graduates of the Rural Initiative for Training Administrators with SPED Expertise will complete their doctorate degrees with specialized expertise in implementing, monitoring, and evaluating student and program performance in rural school settings at an individual student, school, district, and state level.
